Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is an instant real-time mobile payment system that allows mobile payments without needing to use a credit or debit card.

UPI was launched by the National Payments Corporation of India and regulated by the Reserve Bank of India.

The system works by instantly sending and receiving funds between two bank accounts on a mobile platform using a single identifier, such as an email address or mobile number.

UPI is available 24/7 and is designed to provide a simple, secure and convenient transaction by eliminating the need to enter bank details or other sensitive information.
