A weak currency is one which is losing value against other currencies.

The strength of a currency is usually linked to the strength of its economy.

A weak economy along with high inflation and budget deficits would usually be reflected with a weak currency. This can lead to less confidence in the currency, causing the demand for the currency to be lower than the supply.
